Generating traffic is no secret, it is in fact work, yes, you may have to work up a sweat to get some traffic to your website without spending a lot of money, the simple truth here is that for those people that can afford the price you can get as much traffic as you want, but even with that knowledge it does not help 90 percent of those people out there that want traffic but do not have ten thousand dollars to spend on a marketing campaign.

You can post on other websites, with a link back to your website, this is a fairly simple way to create links, however it is debatable about how effective this is for generating traffic.

Some recommend this method as a quick and easy way to get links, however, it is not evident if this is actually useful or not.

Linking to other websites and having other websites link to you is a very important part of getting those traffic counters going in the right direction.
There are many different methods of generating links, some are better than others, in fact there are some that google will penalize you if you use them, like using link farms, specific websites that have little or no value except to serve as a method of generating a link.

Are you just getting started or do you already own a website, creating a website is easier than it has ever been.

If you are just getting started and perhaps you have not yet made your first website, then you should consider doing that as soon as possible, it can take from 60 to 90 days to build up page rank on your website, even then it can be a real challenge to get the PR you want, building PR is hard really hard and sometimes page rank is not as important as you might imagine, take for instance a webpage that has a rank of zero, but get 5000 unique visitors each month, this can happen because of the way that google creates page rank.

So putting all your eggs in one basket may not be a good idea because google can be finicky about page rank and how they determine the level of page worth, which is just one of the things that goes into developing the page rank system at google.

While PR may be important it is not always the most important part of getting started in generating traffic.

Creating traffic pulling webpages, is not easy it is work, it takes good original content which is submitted to a good publishing platform on a regular basis, that means every day you have to publish, just as the old saying goes publish or perish.

As you may have heard there are some brain damaged people, in washington that have had the bright idea that while they do not have to reveal when they have been paid to do something, now the rest of the internet has to do what they would never do.

So now they are saying that if you fail to fully disclose if you were paid money or in product, (wonder if that includes other things as well) oh well, as some have pointed out, it is crazy that we have people in our government that would never ever admit that they have been paid by special interest groups to vote one way or the other, yet, now we have these yahoos, that want to restrict the internet.

In fact here one such alleged crazy loon,

The FTC guidelines just say that material connections should be disclosed. From having dealt with these issues over several years, I believe that will be a good thing for the web.”

Excuse me your kidding right, I can see why google may have allegedly got rid of this guy.

More posting and more topics, more content, more updates, this is what keeps the search engines coming back for more and more and that is what you want with wordpress websites.

So how do you keep the updates coming, well there are several methods but one of the most effective methods is to manually post more to your blog.  That may be easier said than done, more so if you have many different blogs and websites that you have to update every day, in fact you could end up spending hours and hours updating and posting to your website.

Keep those updates coming and you will see more traffic.

If you update your posts will it really make a difference, the answer is a big fat YES.

Updates, are logged by the search engines very often, in fact the more you post the more the search engines will visit your website and that is a good thing.  Very good in fact, here is a tip, a learning moment, if you so desire, try this out, post an update to your blog once per hour for each day for one week and see how your traffic increases.  If you are thinking I work a job how can I do that?  Here is the answer you can schedule a blog post in advance, yes, everyone knows that, well perhaps not everyone.

Believe it or not, there are still some users that struggle with wordpress so that is one good thing to remember.

Post often and update even more often.
