Why Auto blogs just do not work and why you should avoid using them.

About every day on Flippa you can see an autoblog for sale, sometimes the websites go for a few bucks but more and more we are seeing a decline in the perceived value of what auto blogging actually is.

The lights are on but no one is home, sounds like an old song, well it is, and like the song, auto blogging is just the same way the lights are on but no one is at home and google knows it too, dont think they dont.

The reasons are numerous but it all comes down to just one thing.

Are you willing to operate a website?

It is not about the website or the design it is all about the material and the content.

If no one sees it they will not come…

If the lights are on but no one is home, you cannot sell anything.

The simple truth about auto blogging is this if the light are on but no one is home, they just will not come.

The tragedy of the auto blog is that it can never succeed.

Imagine an ant hill, where all the ants did the same thing every day, they eat the same food every day, they listen to the same music every day, never a change, always a grey existence that never changes, that is what most websites are like these days, they just sit there withering away because no one is really visiting them, they are like that ant hill, full of ants, but for the most part no one in the entire world knows about those ants so they go about their lives, oblivious to the rest of the world.

That is what an Auto blog is like, an ant hill where everyone is busy busy busy, but no one knows about them…

Are you lazy?  If you are thats ok, lots of very successful are lazy, but there is one big difference.

They work smart, lazy but smart…

Chances are  you have seen these, ads that promise the moon for the auto blogging life style, the set it and forget it mind set.

But guess what, you already know, it does not work at all.

There are so many of these auto blogging platforms, from WordPress to literally more than you can imagine, each one claiming that they can give you what no one else can deliver.

The truth is that Auto Blogging does not work…

Perhaps that is not what you wanted to hear, but sadly it is the truth, I ran several blogs manually, posting every single day sometimes 10 to 12 times a day, sometimes more. I was able to achieve some success, I started getting some traffic, I started making a little from affiliate commissions, like ebay and amazon and yes even adsense.

But then I made a huge mistake, I got lazy…

I started looking for an easier way to do the same thing and get me here there is nothing wrong with that ok, but and here is where I went wrong, you have to know that what you are doing is the right thing to do.

My mistake, cost me several High PR website ratings.

I paid more than $150 for an auto blogging platform, which was reputed to be better than anything out there, it was touted to work when everything else failed to work, but after loosing my PR ratings where I used this auto-blogging platform, I finally realized what I had done wrong, I trusted what someone else told me, just so they could make a few bucks.

So actually I spent a lot of money trying out different systems, I even tried paying a Virtual Assistant to post for me so I could see if that would work, but sadly that too failed, because I found that you have to have at least some interest in what you are posting about.

If you have ever had a good PR ranking then you know how important it can be to building your level of success, because once you get one good ranking, you can use that to link to lower ranked blogs and in turn improve their rankings, it really is a building block to your success.

There may be a few that are successful with auto blogging, but so far I have not see the first one that can say they are successful for more than 30 to 60 days, because, I saw some good traffic in that period, but after that it all went bad, and then it went from bad to worse.

So why does auto blogging software fail to achieve what the people selling them claim?

One of the most important things you can do for your blog is to give it that human touch and that is not often easy to do with automated software, the reason for this is that every single one of these auto blogging software solutions, leaves behind a trail, usually it is something small, like the same type of formatting post after post.

It is this trail that alerts the search engines that something is not right about the blog you might wonder why it matters, all I can tell you is that it does matter and it matters a lot, because you can go from a great rank to no rank and you can go from great traffic to no traffic and that is definitely not what you want.

So the next time you see an auto blogging software special and you read about how you can just set it up once and just forget it, just remember that you read it here, it is a waste of your money and unless you plan on monitoring and baby sitting your blog, you will never see any measurable success.

Well, Ebay allegedly continues to nose dive against rival Amazon, one of the things that people wonder about is why?

Ebay was doing great then they hired this guy to come in and they changed everything, ever heard the old story if it aint broke, dont fix it apparently and allegedly amazon has not heard that.

As you know Ebay had a good thing going, they had millions of websites out there advertising for them, they had a lot of business coming in by these affiliates.

yet, they had to change it, they could not just let it be successful.  Oh well, we were moving our traffic to ebay but now we have just lost the will to do that mostly because of the changes that ebay made that just basically stopped all commissions from coming in.

We have pulled all our PPC campaigns for ebay.

We have pulled most all of our advertising for the ebay program.

The reason is clear there is no reward, there is no reason to support ebay because of how they changed the game to benefit themselves.

They will regret this, but hey time changes, ebay used to be a good place to move your website traffic, now they are not.

So it is time to look for another company that actually pays a commission, that is the real problem these days is finding a good company that pays a commission.

This is bad business and it is bad for business, just bad all the way around.

If you google, the word bad ebay commissions, you will find some disturbing news.

It looks doubtful one thing for sure, many people have jumped the Ebay ship because of the drastic changes they made in the affiliate program, in fact for the most part thousands went from making money to making nothing…

Well the results is in, the new Ebay pay for clicks is an alleged failure.

at least in our tests, it fails, for a number of reason, the least of which is metrics, but more importantly, what did they do?

Well it is obvious to us at least they took the focus from buying activities to clicking activities, and that was well just plain stupid.

We say that was stupid because you can literally spend all day clicking and never buy a thing, it is the buyers that make all the difference.

not the clickers, but ebay in yet another alleged stupid move, changed every thing up once again, and they paid an alleged very big price for doing so, but hey dont take our word for it, take a look at the cold hard numbers…

we have to ask this because it appears that this is indeed the end result, it may not have been the desired result, (cough, cough) but yes this is what it did, why change it all up, because what you see below is a result of the new “better” ebay system, I for one an looking for a better program…

Looks like the news is in for Ebay, and it may not be the news they allegedly wanted to hear, the new programs, seem to have not worked in the way they had hoped, this happens, most of the time when you hire people that may be very smart and have PHDs, but have little or no real knowledge about how the internet or even how computers work, We just have to say good luck with that…

We have to ask this question because it looks like in the changes that ebay has made to its affiliate program that it is no longer friendly to most websites, which if this is the case that most of the affiliates will move to other programs where they can make money without being dependent on a system that has no clear under pinning.  This is a huge problem, but apparently Ebay cares not.

After all it would appear that Ebay has made a series of trouble some mistakes in the area of both customer satisfaction and seller satisfaction.

AS a seller since 1999 I can testify that I have moved to other markets so instead of selling and buying more I sell almost nothing through ebay and tend to buy from other marketplaces this is because of all the policies that are in effect at ebay that tend to favor everyone but the buyer and seller.

I suspect that this new system that ebay has invested in will backfire in a really bad way, but we will have to see how it works out in the long run, for now it is yet another dissapointment in a long run of troublesome and disappointing situations at ebay.

Get ready to have some real fun.

Well our revenue is down a whopping 3200 percent since the change, we are now completely out of the ebay program, it is just not worth it any more.

It is obvious now that the new Ebay program is not working for us, we have now removed most of all our ebay affiliate programming and moved to other networks, this new program is really a bad deal.

Many of you may have noticed that over the last few weeks ebay has really changed in fact they have changed so much that many sellers have alleged to have moved to other sales platforms in favor of a more fair and balanced format.

As with the new ebay click program has alleged to have left many affiliates out in the cold there are a lot of aspects about ebay that is not as desirable as they once were, hopefully in the future ebay would consult with its affiliates before making huge changes.

Why not tell about it we would love to compare notes, and more so if you happen to know a good alternative to ebay because we have taken down all our ebay related advertising.

In the past our network was profitable however with the new affiliate system it appears we will not profit at all, so we went from a good profitable situation to a zero profitable situation, so we will be pulling all of our Ebay partner advertising over the next 2 weeks.

If you find that you also have been eliminated, and can no longer retain profits then you should seriously consider alternate networks that are not so hands on in the process of pushing the little guys out of business.

Here is a previous screen shot of how we profited before the change and below that will be a screen shot of how it looks now, the difference is obvious and it is obvious why this has been done, personally and my opinion only here is that this will hurt Ebay in the long run, a shame really but no surprise when people who have no training make business decisions.

As you can see in the after picture there is nothing under Earnings, this is what we expected, however we wanted to wait, and if there is a change we will post that change, however we feel like the new changes were designed to eliminate small vendors like our network from being profitable, again that is just our opinion and may not be accurate, but so far it sure looks like a bad thing, much like the mistakes that amazon made recently, followed by a drop in revenue, I expect to see a drop in ebay stock and quarterly profits as well.

So why do they get greedy? no one knows for sure but one thing is clear the people in charge at Ebay are not in the right place with regard to vendors and sellers.
